Before & After
We restore, repair and French Polish not only antique furniture but also contemporary furniture such as G Plan, Mackintosh and Ercol.
![]() Before | Antique FurnitureThis example is an oak sideboard with over mirror and 20-place dining table by John Taylor & Son Edinburgh circa 1860. |
|
The furniture had extensive damage and restoration required a total strip down, then machining, fitting and colour matching of the replacement parts. Finally the furniture was hand finished and waxed. The result was much admired by dinner guests who have since contacted A Furniture Clinic about their requirements. | ![]() After |
![]() Before | Contemporary Dining FurnitureThese G Plan table, chairs and sideboard are 30 years old. It was sun faded and had scratches and cup marks. |
|
The suite was taken to our workshop while the customer redecorated the dining room.
The table and sideboard were hand stripped, colour matched and refinished in a hardwearing, UV resistant, easy care, water based finish.
Finally the chair foams were replaced and stylishly recovered to provide comfortable dining chairs.
"The whole restoration project was a pleasure" | ![]() After |
![]() Before | Leather RepairThis white leather sofa had suffered a cigarette burn right through the seat cushion cover. |
|
A repair was made to the damaged area, leather pigment mixed to match the existing colour and finally sprayed to blend the repair.
The piece was returned to the nervous customer’s complete satisfaction. "I can't even see where the repair is!" | ![]() After |
![]() Before | Church WoodworkThis woodwork is 100 year old ecclesiastical oak, finished in a traditional dark brown. |
